How to fully control your AMX player from PosterDigital
AMX is a complete and robust player with a long list of features. To take advantage of all these features, first it’s necessary to create some rules of redirection within the router, leaving ports 80 and 81 open and visible from the Internet.
If these ports are already occupied by other services, you can open a different port in the router and redirect it to each player.
Player with serial number XXXXXXXXX with internal IP XXX.XXX.X.XXX
Router port (with external access) 8080 —> player port 80
Router port (with external access) 8081 —> player port 81
Router port (with external access) 8028 —> player port 80
Router port (with external access) 8029 —> player port 81
If you have your ports open, we recommend using fixed port settings in your AMX player. If you use DHCP settings, when you restart the player it may use a different IP address and the port redirection rules in your router will not work
If you don’t know how to open ports in your router, talk to your network administrator or your internet service provider.
Change network settings in your AMX player
To configure your AMX player, use a computer connected to the same LAN as the player.
Turn on the AMX player and wait for the initial screen to load
Hold down the blue button on the back of the player for a 1 or 2 seconds until you see a box on the screen with the IP address
Enter the player’s IP address (X.X.X.X) in your internet browser to access your player’s web interface.
Within the Administration menu, select Network Settings.
In the Connections tab, you can edit your network information: IP address, Netmask, Gateway, and DNS. If you select the option DHCP, the player will automatically generate an IP address.
Opening these ports, you will have new options for controlling your player
Web interface (direct access to player)
View log (registry that lets you see possible errors).
Reboot (turns the player off and back on).
Reload (loads programmed content and starts it from the beginning).
